Both androgens & oestrogens have physical effects far beyond their previously understood roles as “sex hormones”. These simplifications may have been acceptable in general social situations, but they are inappropriate within a precise scientific or healthcare context.
Also, hormones don’t function in isolation. Our bodies have a tangled web of hormones that allow different parts of our bodies to work together.
